Meera Sreenarayanan

“a performer totally without a consciousness of self or any feelings of wanting to be pretty. She was the dance.” (Narthaki.com)

Dubbed a "sensitive dancer," for her nuanced expressions and technical proficiency, Meera Sreenarayanan, a gifted young artiste from Guruvayur, Kerala, was initiated into the world of dance by Prakash Choondal at the age of four. Following her fundamental training under R.L.V. Anand, her family relocated to Chennai to further enhance her dance vocabulary with Kalakshetra Nirmala Nagaraj. At the moment, Meera is mentored by Indira Kadambi. Meera holds a postgraduate degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras & a diploma in Nritya Shastra from the Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai University. She undergoes consistent training also in Navarasa Sadhana under G. Venu. In addition to her expertise in Bharatanatyam, Meera has undergone extensive training in Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam, which has helped construct integrated pedagogy in dance.

As the founder of ‘Tatdhii Arts and Learning’ and an endorsed artist of ‘SPICMACAY’, Meera is always working to make art more accessible and integral to the life of the next generation of both urban and rural populations. Meera's goal is to make science and art more relevant to a younger audience by narrowing the conceptual gap between them. A holistic and secure learning environment is provided by Meera's stimulating, demanding, and varied pedagogy. Drawing on her experience in Physics, Meera tackles every

task with a blend of aesthetics and logic, tailoring the same idea to suit each individual in a different way. Meera also conducts workshops, intensives, and custom courses for shorter formats, while she prefers to work one-on-one with students for longer periods of time.

The third Sanskrit film to be produced in India in 22 years, "Priyamanasam," marked Meera's acting debut. The film earned a national award. She also played the lead in a music video "Aliveni ," a popular melody by Swati Tirunal , among several others. In addition to publishing a Physics research paper, being a Gold Medal holder in M.Sc. Physics, Meera has authored other dance-related articles for publications including "Narthaki" and "Artograph."
